A bloody good wine and a mysterious one

June 1, 2007
Wine Tasting at Green Jug on 6307 Platt Ave, Woodland Hills, CA 91367

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Chateau Franc-Maillet 2000 Pomerol AOC has a
mysterious aroma and first taste (ash + something...)
that escapes me. Mysterious. 30$

The Chimney Rock 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley
Stags Leap District, was generally AWESOME. Brad at
the Green jug says, he poured it in and out of a
container 3 - 4 times, and that made the wine come
"alive". But it was full bodied, smooth and none of
the after taste of tannins in the wine. One great
wine. 45$
I have never been an oenophile. My favorite drinks are beer (Guiness draft) and Single Malt (Laphroaig). I have spent money on wine, but have never understood what the fuss was all about. Until recently. There is a great wineshop near where I live that does wine tasting every weekend. I was introduced to Brad, the expert, by my friend and I had my first wine tasting. I still thought the wine was not great until I tasted a really good one on my first outing. I think I will go tasting some more and see if I can find some good wines. I will write about the interesting wines I taste there, and see if I can build some knowledge and expertise about wines.

For those of you know what I am talking about, I spit!
